Zoloft (sertraline) drug information, dosage, side effects, drug interactions, and warnings. Zoloft, generic drug name sertraline hydrochloride, is a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor antidepressant used to treat depression and other conditions. Zoloft (sertraline) is also used to relieve symptoms of fibromyalgia.
Drug Monograph: Zoloft / Sertraline
Sertraline is an oral antidepressant drug of the selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) type. It is similar to citalopram, fluoxetine, and paroxetine. Sertraline does not significantly affect the reuptake of norepinephrine as do many tricyclic antidepressants.
