Too often, people with arthritis choose not to go on vacation or even a day trip because they think they can't manage traveling. Pain and physical limitation is allowed to interfere with what could be a relaxing and refreshing experience. I've put together a few suggestions for travel destinations. I've gathered the accessibility information for these fun spots, too. Let's start with one of my favorites -- SeaWorld.

There are three SeaWorld parks in the United States - San Diego, Orlando, and San Antonio. SeaWorld provides an arthritis-friendly environment with its exhibits, shows, and exclusive park experiences. There are also rides for members of the family who are without physical limitations.

Manual wheelchairs are available to rent, as well as a few electric wheelchairs. Most shows, gift shops, food facilities, park information and rides are accessible to wheelchairs, but there are also certain areas that cannot accommodate non-ambulatory guests. Prepare ahead of time by downloading their accessibility guide.
