Naproxen is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) of the propionic acid chemical class. Naproxen possesses antipyretic and analgesic properties. Naproxen is chemically related to ibuprofen, ketoprofen, flurbiprofen, and fenoprofen. Naproxen tablets were approved by the FDA in 1976.
