Ketoprofen is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) of the propionic acid chemical class. Ketoprofen possesses analgesic and antipyretic properties. Ketoprofen was approved by the FDA in January 1986. On October 9, 1995, an OTC dosage form (12.5 mg) of ketoprofen was approved for marketing.
