Discoid lupus erythematosus cause, diagnosis, symptoms, and treatment. Discoid lupus erythematosus (DLE), is a chronic skin disease. Most individuals with discoid lupus will only develop skin manifestations, but some patients will also present symptoms of systemic lupus. Discoid lupus may occur in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus.
