What is Anxiety?

Definition: Anxiety is defined as feelings of apprehension, danger, dread, uncertainty, accompanied by restlessness and tension. Also, anxiety can be characterized by physical symptoms such as palpitations, sweating, and feelings of stress. Anxiety is considered a normal emotion when associated with the life-altering chronic disease arthritis and an impetus to better coping with arthritis.

Examples: After many years of living with rheumatoid arthritis, the patient still experiences periods of anxiety.
