It can be difficult for people with arthritis to bend and reach to put on shirts, pants, socks, and shoes because of joint pain and limited range of motion. Dressing aids such as dressing sticks and sock aids can compensate for difficulties caused by arthritis.
Many people are unaware of medical supplies and adaptive equipment that can make living with arthritis easier. Dressing aids have extended handles to make up for lost range of motion -- eliminating strain and extra pain caused by over-reaching. An occupational therapist gave me a sock aid and hip kit after my first hip replacement nearly 30 years ago. At the time, I didn't know such things existed. Consider dressing aids for yourself.
