Calorie Count Plus
It's not uncommon for people with arthritis to gain weight. This is not the case for everyone who has arthritis, but physical limitations and a sedentary lifestyle can cause weight gain and make losing weight difficult. About.com Health has just announced a new feature Calorie Count Plus - nutrition information along with weight loss and weight maintenance tools which are free and easy to use.
Calorie Count Plus tools include:
- What's in What You Eat? Get the nutrition facts on your favorite recipes. Browse the database of 70,000 foods and 50,000 recipes.
- Determine Your Diet Profile: This test will analyze your eating habits to determine your diet profile.
- Choose Your Approach to Exercise: Create your own personal exercise program.
The tools on Calorie Count Plus will help you track the foods you eat and the calories that you burn! When you enter foods into your daily food log, there is a Food Recommendation tool which will automatically suggest alternatives and better choices. You can check your BMI, enter your goal weight, and Calorie Count Plus will help you determine how to reach your goal and how long it will take. This doesn't replace the advice of your doctor, but the personalized tools and support on Calorie Count Plus will give you valuable insight into diet and nutrition.

When I analyzed my eating habits, I realized that I was consuming primarily carbs. Since cutting out sugar and drastically cutting back on carbs, I have lost 32 pounds since the first of this year. My blood sugar is at a normal level and my RA episodes have been light. And most of all, I just feel better.
