Anna Nicole Smith May Have Had Lupus

Saturday March 3, 2007
PRNewswire PhotoAnna Nicole Smith who passed away on February 8, 2007 may have suffered from lupus, according to MSNBC. First and foremost, it must be emphasized that the medical condition systemic lupus erythematosus, also commonly referred to as lupus or SLE, has not been confirmed by medical authorities, nor has her cause of death been announced yet. However, some of Anna Nicole's close friends have disclosed that Anna Nicole confided she had lupus but she didn't want her fans to remember her that way and wanted it kept secret. On ETonline.com, close friend Frank Rodriguez said Anna Nicole told him in 1998 about the lupus. It has also been reported that her pregnancy last year could have caused a flare of lupus symptoms, including severe pain. The condition may account for some of the drugs Anna Nicole took. Reports of severe fatigue, spiking fevers, and lupus may prove to be consistent.

According to the Autoimmune Diseases Association, it is not uncommon for celebrities to try to keep their autoimmune conditions away from the media and hidden from the public. Non-celebrity people, who suffer with lupus or one of the 80 other autoimmune diseases, often hide their condition from family and friends fearing they will be misunderstood. One study found that 29 percent of Americans incorrectly believe that autoimmune disease is AIDS. Only 5 percent of study respondents could name an autoimmune disease. If Anna Nicole is confirmed to have had lupus, no one should be surprised she hid it.

If celebrities are hiding autoimmune diseases, this just confirms that our society is not ready to accept and accomodate illnesses such as these on a daily basis. We need spokes people in the lime light that are willing to be our voice and bring attention to the needs of people with autoimmune illnesses not ones that want to stay in the closet to protect their “reputation” and acceptance. Sad but times have still not changed in our society yet.

Yep, our society is not ready to hear about certain diseases that are out there. The same thing applies to some gynecologic conditions such as endometriosis (which I believe is autoimmune in nature) and vulvodynia.

I can see based on the article why celebrities would hide the problem. Because if they brought it to light their fans would no longer see them as perfect in all areas.

Which means that something I heard about their careers going under is very true.

I have been diagnosed since 1979 and it is a hard illness to deal with; however, it should not be hidden regardless of your status in society. My heart goes out to Anne’s baby who will never get to know her mother. Hopefully, this disease may get a little more recognition if it is confirmed that Anna suffered too. Society, in general, needs to wake up and face that since we are living longer due to better medical advances, more and more people will be faced with Lupus and other illnesses and this should not be thought of as a “death sentence”. Let’s come together as one and help each other instead of putting each other down. No person is better than the other and it takes everyone working together to make this world a better place to live. May Anna finally rest in peace.

Sad to know that the manufacturers continue to damage our health.I feel so deceived as many other woman who have had saline or silicone implants.

(5) Maria says:

I also had all these symptoms of Lupus… I had low-grade fevers daily, brain fog, memory loss, chronic fatigue, vertigo, bounce off walls for no reason, tingling in hands and feet, slurred speech, right side paralysed, all symptoms of fibromayalgia and felt as though I would die… Was I on drugs? NO! I had breast implants, which made me have all these symtpoms. I needed to resort to major drugs for comfort, just like Anne Nicole Smith. I also had hair loss, sinus infections, ear aches and flu-like symptoms and layed in bed for days, well over a year until removal. I had like 38 symptoms total. Got implants removed and improving daily with detox and proper diet.
Lot’s of symptoms went away with proper explant. I watched Anne on T.V. months before her death and seen all of her symptoms, right before my eyes, pointing to her and telling my boyfriend, what I seen. Her left breast higher than the other, a clear sign of capsular contracture, a clever word created for infection. She for sure had the brain fog. She acted lost sometimes… Then Anna just dies? When Larry Burkhead was testifying in court recently, the Judge ask him questions regarding Anne Nicoles behavior and he seemed puzzled when asked ” Did Anne always act like this? Was she on drugs? Larry claimed, “Well sometimes and sometimes she did it not on drugs? Why was Anna in so much pain? Why the need for drugs? Did She have silicone posioning like so many women in this country, like myself, we live with it daily, fighting to regain our health, upon removal of toxic implants. It is all covered up and most are diagnoised with Lupus or MS. This is bio-toxins in our bodies, slow poison. Covered up by the FDA. All the Med Watch reports we file reporting our sickness, are put aside, never placed on the news… My “safe” implants had mold, bacteria and fungis growing in them when removed and tested? Never one thing happened, FDA didn’t care, didn’t see the FDA report this to anyone in fact. They will report some tainted spinach or peanut butter, but not for thousands of sick women from breast implants? I layed in bed over a year feeling as though I just wanted to die…Lost my business and now I am disabled from my implants. Symptoms of Lupus, rash, IBS, low-grade fevers, etc. slowly fading upon removal of my implants, with heavy detoxing and diet. NO Cure for my diseases!!! I know have from my “Safe” implants. Auto Immune Disease, A typical connective tissue disease and a system illness due from bio-toxin disease from mold.
I can relate to how Anna Nicole felt, I could see it in her face, this picture of her holding her little Baby in the hospital bed. The Rash on her Face, similar to mine and many others. I know the truth, I can feel this in my heart and soul. God knows the truth… The world act so clueless, not caring how many lives that breast implants destroy daily. Wonder why our SS is running out so early, when young girls are stripped from good careers, jobs and a business, to sick to work from breast implants? FDA let’s do our Job! Let’s test Anna Nicole for a silicone rupture or if “safe” saline, like my case, some mold, bacteria or fungus.. Staph, Aspergilus or Mycobacteria? Let’s find the truth out instead of another victim of breast implants, dead, then it is blamed on drugs, lupus or MS. Keys to the truth lie with the very few PS doctor’s who do know proper explant procedures, chemist who test these devices. Let’s contact them and find out the truth… Anne Nicole’s Daughter deserves to know why she will live the rest of her life, without her Mother. Another Implant Victim, sweeped under the rug, top secret… This can’t happen the world needs to know the true risk regarding implants, how they destroy bodies and kill women. Let’s not let Anne Nicold die from breast implants, then blame on her drug use. Let’ ask ourselves why a beautiful young lady died so young and in so much pain. This is a no brainer. Anne Nicole Smith is no medical mystery, it is from her breast implant sickness.
Anne Nicole may you rest in peace.

(6) Katz says:

I have Lupus. If she did I feel so badly for her. When I seen her swollen face and heard of the fevers and bad health I suspected she was hiding something. Breast implants and collagen injections combined with a new baby, loss of a son would have put her body/mind and sometimes internal organs such as kidneys into a severe flareup. She would need to rest a lot. She must have suffered terribly. Being under a large amount of stress brings a flareup on as well. Pain and sleeping a lot combined with headaches and many other symtoms, I feel as if no one understands either. Anna was in a lot of real physical pain and it is easy to see that. Maybe she had a severe kidney infection. I almost died a few times from that.

(7) Alice says:

I didn’t pay attention to her on TV or in the papers when she was alive. Looking over everything in the internet since she died, I already knew I had lupus, I believe she had it also. For example: the way it says she said she was tired and going to continue to fight, and on, I feel it. I know the autopsy is said to report no sign of disease, but systemic lupus erythematosis is inflametion all over, sometimes that miraculously (and sadly because of the way rules are set up) does not scar but continue to hurt because no destroyed yet, and then no one believes the illness nor the pain. Too bad with all she had, she didn’t have the comfort she needed to live truly healthfully. Bless her soul in heaven and Dannielynn here
