Game Plan for Osteoarthritis - What's Your Goal?

Tuesday October 31, 2006
The Arthritis Foundation, with former Denver Bronco quarterback and Pro Football Hall of Fame inductee John Elway as their spokesperson, have developed a new program called "Game Plan for OA". The program helps people with osteoarthritis take steps to live successfully with the disease. About 21 million Americans have osteoarthritis. The steps focus on important aspects of osteoarthritis management, including:

  • Physical activity and regular exercise
  • Controlling weight
  • Treatment options
  • Surgery options

A free "playbook" is available from the Arthritis Foundation through a grant from Smith and Nephew. The playbook offers people with osteoarthritis tools and tips for reducing pain and advice for combatting the affects of a sedentary lifestyle. Watch the video and get more information about the Game Plan for OA.
