Mobility Can Be Problem for People With Severe Arthritis

Friday August 11, 2006
Mobility can become a problem for some people with severe arthritis. Though arthritis medications and other arthritis treatments lessen symptoms, there can still be joint damage which limits mobility. Pain and limited range of motion also can impair mobility. Walking long distances and moving freely become difficult.

For some people with arthritis, it is hard to concede that mobility aids are needed. Yet those who use wheelchairs and electric scooters admit that it can be the difference between dependence and independence. Addressing mobility issues can get people out into the world again and enjoying life, a vast difference from being homebound.
