Humira And Methotrexate In Combination Better Than Either Drug Alone
Results from the PREMIER study, published in the January 2006 issue of Arthritis and Rheumatism, reveal that for adults with early, aggressive rheumatoid arthritis treatment with Humira and methotrexate in combination is more effective than either drug alone.

There were 799 study participants randomized to receive either Humira (a TNF blocker drug) and oral methotrexate in combination, Humira alone, or methotrexate alone. The combination group showed "significantly superior" results with regard to improving signs and symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis, inhibiting progression of the disease, and achieving clinical remission.

I was perscibed methotrexate and Humira and had wonderfull results till 4 months into treatment I had drug induced pneumonia and spent 10 days in hospital. I am now having to try a number of drugs which so far are not working, just to many side effects.
