Celebrex Approved for Ankylosing Spondylitis; Warnings Updated on Label

Celebrex (celecoxib) has been approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for relief of the signs and symptoms associated with ankylosing spondylitis. This latest use of Celebrex is the sixth approved indication for Celebrex in the United States. The other indications for Celebrex include the treatment of:
- osteoarthritis
- adult rheumatoid arthritis
- acute pain
- menstrual pain
- familial adenomatous polyposis (a rare colon cancer)
Pfizer, the maker of Celebrex, also announced the FDA has finalized the prescribing instructions, or label, for Celebrex for all approved uses, including additional warnings about potential cardiovascular and gastrointestinal risks. Read more news about the Celebrex from Pfizer.
