Relatively Few Have Signed Up For Medicare Drug Discount Card

With June 1st, the start date for the Medicare Drug Discount Card, quickly approaching, is it surprising relatively few people have signed up? AARP reports low initial enrollment even though Medicare's hotline has fielded more than 3.5 million calls since May 3. Some are blaming the complexity of the program and lack of obvious savings.

People who are eligible are being encouraged to do more research. Read How-To Obtain a Medicare-Approved Drug Discount Card. You can still sign up if you decide you want the card, but anyone issued a card within a month has to wait until the first of the next month to use it.
