Sounds good, but can you think of things to help a loved one who doesn’t seem to want to get out of the funk?

He and I both have arthritis and I can’t get him to exercise and he’s putting on lots of weight. He won’t go for a walk consistently…always has an excuse why he won’t exercise, says the things he does all the time is enough exercise, mows the lawn and is exhausted and “too tired” for anything else. Can’t get him out of the house usually except to swing the great grandbaby or go to the store, get Rx, run errands, etc. He’s depressed and overweight and has Type 1 Diabetes(brittle) and Diabetic Retinopathy. He used to watch his diabetes carefully, but now with the added RA, he seems very depressed and not as interested in doing anything to improve his situation. He also has sleep apnea that only developed after he gained a lot of weight….also can’t get him to the sleep clinic either. He says I’m always on him, criticizing and griping and all I want to do it help him be healthy and to stay alive so that we can enjoy the rest of our lives together. I try to have a serious talk with him about this, but it ends up in an argument every time. He says “You’re trying to kill me” when I suggest exercise or activities.
