I think my 38 yr old mother-in-law has become addicted to pain killers after having back surgery…4 years ago. sometimes she is lively and seems free from severe pain but then “relapse” before her scheduled doctor’s evaluation
… she comes up with a different excuse everytime I offer to “tag along” to the doc’s. what can I do? is there any hope?

What can be done in the state of Illinois if someone in your family is addicted to pain killers and refuses to get treatment, and has been hospitalized several times for overdosing. This person shows all of the signs and has pretty much givin up her entire family in order to continue using and killing herself.
