Fosamax (Alendronate) Prevents Bone Loss After Hormone Replacement Therapy is Discontinued

Recent studies confirming the possible detrimental effects of hormone replacement therapy (HRT) caused many women to discontinue the treatment. However, many postmenopausal women who discontinue HRT experience a rapid decline in bone density, as reported by Johns Hopkins.

Fosamax (alendronate) is effective for increasing or maintaining bone mass density, as well as decreasing the rate of bone loss, in postmenopausal women.
